Guess what everyone? Apparently, actor Jang Geun Suk of Korean drama You’re Beautiful is a huge deal in Thailand. After starring in You’re Beautiful, in which Jang portrays the lead of the fictional rock band ANJELL, the actor has ventured into the music industry in an attempt to reinvent himself as a hybrid “Actor-Singer.” He’s just wrapped up concert performances in Singapore and Hong Kong. Now he’s in Thailand for a concert that sold 4000 tickets in the first thirty minutes of sales. Not too shabby Mr. Actor-Singer.
After Thailand, Jang will visit Malaysia for yet another concert performance. His single “Let Me Cry” has been released in Japan to impressive fanfare, reaching the top spot on Japan’s Oricon daily chart.
Jang Geun Suk is preparing to shoot the film You Pet.
In light of Jang’s foray into the music industry, it seems the actor is becoming more and more like his You’re Beautiful character Hwang Tae Kyung. Life imitating art?
